Our treatment centers in Shreveport and Bossier City, LA, serve men and women throughout Louisiana.

The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) provides personalized care in a supportive environment that is second to none. Our residential treatment center located in Bossier City, LA, provides 24/7 care to those who need immediate help.


Our residential substance abuse treatment program is open to all adults, including pregnant women and mothers with dependent children. It includes gender-specific community groups, relapse-specific group therapy, individual counseling, family sessions, educational lectures, 12-step support groups and daily recreation opportunities.


We also have an outpatient substance abuse program that can help you develop early recovery skills, identify your triggers, manage your stress and recognize unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Our Outpatient Clinic is located in Shreveport, LA.


CADA accepts commercial insurance, Medicaid, and self pay. Certain residential clients who are ineligible for Medicaid and have no other means to pay may qualify for state-funded treatment services.

Our Programs

High-intensity Residential Treatment: A 28-day program with a full schedule of clinical and therapeutic services including group therapy, individual counseling, family counseling, relapse prevention, gender-specific groups, education, and daily recreation.


Low-intensity Residential Treatment: A 90-day program available to select graduates of the High-Intensity Program with a halfway-house environment and focusing on life skills, education, and employment.


Family Renewal Program: Residential treatment for pregnant women and mothers with dependent children (ages 12 and under) in a safe, supportive environment. Includes education on parenting skills as well as activities and support for the children. Space in this program is limited.



Intensive Outpatient Program: 3-hour group therapy sessions led by a trained addiction counselor that take place 3 times a week. Morning sessions starting at 9:00 am and evening sessions starting at 5:30 pm are available. These sessions will help you develop early recovery skills, identify your triggers, manage your stress and recognize unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviors.


Outpatient Counseling: Hourly 1-on-1 sessions with a trained addiction counselor that take place weekly, monthly, or as often as needed.
